The mounting position affects the appearance, clearance and light gaps around your blind.
Sits within the window opening for a tidy, recessed finish. Check that the recess is deep enough and that handles, winders and opening windows will clear the fabric and brackets.
Mounts on the wall or suitable architrave. Extending past the opening can reduce light gaps and help clear obstructions. Use the outside-fit measuring instructions.
Look at which side of the tube the fabric drops from.
The fabric falls from the back of the tube, nearer the window. This usually keeps the cloth closer to the glass or wall and helps reduce light gaps. The fabric backing is visible around the top roll.
The fabric falls over the front of the tube, covering the roll with the room-facing fabric. It sits further from the window, which can help clear handles but may increase light gaps.
A linked layout places neighbouring blinds on shared intermediate brackets, reducing the gap between them.
Measure each section using the linked-blind guide. Position the joins to suit doors, mullions and the parts of the opening you want to use independently.
The configuration letters describe the control arrangement. Use the option illustration to check which sections operate together and which operate independently.
MyDIY asks for the additional blind widths within this configuration. Complete every width field that appears and check the full arrangement before adding it to the cart.
The tube supports the fabric across the width of your blind.
A larger diameter gives the roller more rigidity. It also changes the size of the rolled-up blind.
If several blinds share a room, consider the appearance of their top rolls together. The options shown depend on the configuration available for that blind.
Select the control style that suits the window and the way you use the room.
Choose the side that is easiest to reach and clear of furniture. Fit and use the supplied chain safety device according to the installation instructions.
Operate the blind by hand without a hanging chain. Make sure you can comfortably reach the bottom rail.
Useful for high windows or several blinds. Choose the motor, remote and any optional hub or charger in the fields that appear.
Choose the power supply first, then the controls that suit it.
A rechargeable option without a permanent mains connection at the blind. Plan how you will reach the charging point.
Uses a permanent mains supply. Arrange the electrical connection with a licensed electrician.
For integration with a compatible wired automation system. Confirm the control and wiring requirements with your installer before ordering.
A channel lets you select a motor or a group of motors to operate together.
A straightforward choice for a small setup, such as two independently controlled blinds or curtains.
Gives you more room to separate individual windows and create groups across several rooms.
Choose this only when you already have a compatible controller for the motor being ordered.
A compatible hub links supported motors to app-based control.
Group compatible window furnishings by room and use the supported app to control them or create schedules.
A hub needs power and the required home-network connection. Check motor and controller compatibility before relying on an existing hub or voice assistant.
Rechargeable motors need a compatible charger.
Choose the quantity shown for your configuration if you do not already have the correct charger.
Select “Not Required” or “Not Needed” only when your existing charger is compatible. Allow practical access to each charging connection.
Match the small details to your fabric, window frame or the rest of the room.
White or a similar light finish often sits quietly with light fabrics and white frames. A dark finish can blend with darker fabrics or frames.
A contrasting rail, chain or track can be a deliberate detail. Compare all visible components together before choosing.
The chain is both a control and a visible finishing detail.
A metallic finish pairs easily with many fabrics and window frames. Select the exact finish offered for this product.
Choose a colour that blends with the fabric, architrave or wall, or use a contrasting finish deliberately.
The base rail finishes the lower edge of your roller blind.
A rounded profile for a softly shaped bottom edge.
A straighter, slimmer-looking profile. Choose from the finishes available for the flat rail.
The optional rubber insert cushions contact between the back of the rail and the window or frame.
Consider it where airflow can move the blind or where the rail may touch the sill or architrave.
Check the quantity described by the option so the insert covers the intended rails in your configuration.
A fascia covers the visible roller hardware for a more enclosed-looking finish.
The current single-roller options include a 75 mm square fascia, a 100 mm square fascia and a 100 mm fabric-wrapped square fascia.
Use the double-roller fascia offered with that product. Its profile and clearance differ from a single-roller fascia.
A decorative fascia covers the front of the hardware. A cassette is an enclosure system; it has different mounting and measuring requirements.
A cassette encloses the roller, with channels or an enclosure arrangement selected for the product.
Check the enclosure option against your opening and sill. The configuration determines whether a bottom enclosure is included.
Clearance and fixing points differ from an ordinary roller blind. Follow the cassette measuring instructions before entering your dimensions.
A blockout option for a simple, opaque finish.

Use the MyDIY measuring guide for this exact product and fitting method.
Enter each width and drop in millimetres. Check that you have not entered centimetres or swapped width and height.
For multiple sections, corners or splits, enter each measurement in the field carrying the matching letter or label.
A clear room or window name makes each custom item easier to identify.
For example, “Bedroom 2 – left window” or “Living room – sliding door”.
Use consistent names for related blinds or shutter sections, with an extra position label where useful.
Start with the light and privacy you need in this room.
An opaque fabric for night-time privacy and a darker room. Light can still enter around the edges of the blind; the fit and roll direction affect those gaps.

An open weave softens strong daylight while preserving some view outside. Privacy depends on the lighting on each side of the window. Add a blockout layer when you need privacy at night.

Diffuses daylight and softens the view through the window. With the lights on after dark, silhouettes may be visible. A blockout layer gives you more control over privacy.
