Quick Measuring for a Shutter Quote

A quick quote measurement only needs enough accuracy to estimate the shutter size. Final order measurements should be completed using the full guide for your chosen mount type. You can then enter these approximate measurements on the shutter product page to calculate a price/quote.

What you need

Use a metal tape measure and record dimensions in millimetres. Measure the visible opening rather than relying on building plans or old blind sizes.

Measure the width

Measure the approximate width of the window opening from left to right. For a quote, one careful width is generally enough unless the opening is obviously irregular.

Measure the drop

Measure from the top of the opening to the bottom. If the window has a sill, measure to the surface where the shutter would finish.

Take a photo

A full-window photo helps identify the window type, architrave, sill and obvious obstructions. Final measurements will still be required before manufacture. If you need to ask any questions pre-order you can then send this photo to us in an email or via our contact form.
