What Is an Outside Mount?

An outside mount, also called a face fit, positions the plantation shutter on the front face of the wall or window architrave rather than inside the recess.

Overview

Outside mounting uses an outside L-frame and is suitable for many window types. It is particularly useful where the recess is shallow, contains obstructions, or where an inside-mounted shutter would interfere with the existing window.

The trade-off is that the shutter is slightly larger and projects further into the room. Make sure there is a suitable flat fixing surface around the opening before selecting this option.
